‘Sodus’ is the solo project of Kyle J. Reigle, whose stunning track ‘Sodus’ has recently been picked up by FatCat’s Demo outfit as their first featured artist of 2017. With a brilliant track record including Frightened Rabbit and Odonis Odonis, FatCat are well-known for their tastemaking skills, and Cemeteries is absolutely no exception. ‘Sodus’ is a stomping, haunted track which leaves you floating in the psychedelic combination of heavy reverb and Reigle’s crooning vocals. After a minimal breakdown, ‘Sodus’ really comes into its own in the second half with a dreamy, Beach House-inspired section which muses dark themes of loneliness: ‘In the night they’ll find you all alone / With the colour red surrounding your throat’. ­- HM
